Twistedgifted design branding and support an emotional health & mental health project.

Twistedgifted were approached by Storm Skills Training CIC® to create some branding to launch their #HeyAreYouOK? campaign. We’ve been fortunate enough to work on this campaign with founder, Dr Gill Green and her amazing team over at STORM® who do a sterling job in raising awareness and promoting a more tolerant, less stigmatised society around emotional and mental health issues.

Mental health issues have always carried a certain stigma in society – often being seen as a weakness. It’s through emotional health that STORM® aim to tackle the stigma – by explaining that ‘all’ of us have emotional health needs which can lead to mental ill-health. Many people have times in their lives where they need some help and this campaign is designed to raise awareness and promote a culture that teaches us to recognise distress and to talk about it openly and honestly; a culture that teaches us to ask for help without the fear of being stigmatised; and a culture that teaches us that sometimes we need to reach out to those we think may be finding life difficult to cope with. Whether we know the person or not, by simply asking the question #HeyAreYouOK? can make all the difference and may save that persons life.

 On creating the branding for this campaign, our focus lay on the all important question itself and so we needed to create a design which didn’t detract from the message which the campaign is all about.

The result is a bright, fresh yet simple graphic which reiterates the question #HeyAreYouOK? By using this branding on all promotional materials, course literature etc  it directly points to the campaigns twitter feed and further embeds the question in ones mind – thus strengthening the brand and its message.

Twistedgifted are proud to be working with and supporting the #HeyAreYouOK? campaign. STORM® are trying to raise vital income by attracting businesses to purchase the #HeyAreYouOK workshops and through their ‘Mug-4a-Mate’ events or just by offering a donation to their DONATE page. The money raised helps STORM® to deliver #HeyAreYouOK workshops for schools and spreads the #HeyAreYouOK? message.
